Every fall it's the same story. The mornings get cooler, you pull out a big cozy sweater, and then you catch yourself in the hallway mirror. All that thick knit makes you look twice as wide as you are. So back it goes into the drawer, and you spend another winter in the same plain gray cardigan.

Olivia's test is the fit, the fabric and the finish. Is it comfortable, is it made properly, will it still look good after a season of wear? My test is the woman wearing it. Does it flatter her, does it make her feel like herself, and where will she wear it? Most pieces fail one of the two and go straight back.
I'll admit I almost passed on this one. A chunky knit in three colors sounded like trouble to me. Then Olivia held it up and traced the V with her finger, and I saw what she saw. Here's why it passed both tests.

Look at the front. The soft white yoke points down in a V, and the pink panel below it follows the same line. Then a braided cable runs straight down the center.
